Video to GIF ("the App") is a video-to-GIF converter that processes all data locally on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Video files you select from your photo library or file manager for GIF conversion
- App preferences such as theme, language, default FPS, and resolution settings
Automatically Collected Information
- Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and general location data to serve relevant advertisements. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number
- We do not collect usage analytics or crash reports
- We do not track your activity across other apps or websites
- We do not use any analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, no Mixpanel, etc.)
- We do not require user accounts or authentication
2. How Your Data Is Processed
All video processing - including trimming, frame extraction, palette generation, and GIF encoding - happens entirely on your device using FFmpeg. No video or image data is transmitted to any server.
Your converted GIF files are stored locally in the app's documents directory and optionally saved to your device's photo library.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party service:
- Google AdMob - Used to display interstitial and rewarded advertisements. AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers to serve personalized ads. You can manage your ad preferences in your device settings. See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosure.
4. Device Permissions

These permissions are requested only when needed and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings.
5. Data Storage and Retention
- App preferences are stored locally using SharedPreferences on your device
- The 5 most recent converted GIF files are kept in the app's local storage; older files are automatically deleted
- Temporary processing files (palettes, intermediate frames) are cleaned up after each conversion
- You can delete all app data by uninstalling the App
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected by the App itself, there is no risk of children's data being stored or shared.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
